GIMME5 STORY
We're two college students who founded a press on nailcompany because we couldn't find a nail brand that fitcollege life.Between classes,part-time jobs, date nights,and game days, we wanted nails that looked put to-gether without salon time or high cost.Most press onswe tried were either too poorly made or doesn't fit nailsproperly, so we built our own solution from a dorm deskand an ipad.
We designed Gimme5 around what college studentsactually need:
- handmade,comfortable,affordable
- wearable for class, work, and study sessions
- clean and professional for interviews
- school-spirit for game day,bold for parties, soft for dateseasy to change and remove for the gym
Then something shifted. A high school cross countryteam asked us for custom nails in their team colors for astate championship.On competition day they arrived inmatching uniforms,hairstyles and nails. Seeing theirphotos, we realized nails can carry team spirit like anyuniform. They weren'tjust wearing nails, they werewearing confidence and support.
The name Gimme5 comes from a ritual when Cathy rancross country in high school.Before every race, theteam had a rule:everyone gets cheered on, ending witha big"Gimme five!"and a high five to hype each otherup. We wanted our nails to feel like that same energy,like a wearable high five for presentations, game days,rush week, or simply showing up.
Gimme5 is more than a product. It's a student founded,college designed press on brand that celebratesdifferent style and team spirit.Our designs are shapedby real campus moments like late nights in the library,rush week excitement,football weekends, interviewnerves, and the shared joy of doing things together.
